Machete-Wielding Pair Rob Man On Long Island, Search Ensues, Police Say

Police are asking for the community’s assistance in locating two men who they say robbed a 23-year-old victim, using a machete to threaten him.

The incident occurred on Monday, Feb. 12 in Riverhead, according to police.

Just before 7:30 p.m. that evening, a 23-year-old Riverhead man was walking north on Doctors Path near the PSE&G building when he noticed the two suspects sitting in a car on the side of the road.

The two robbers then jumped out of the vehicle and came up behind the victim, grabbing the man and menacing him with a machete.

According to officials, the duo fled the scene, making off with the victim’s wallet, which had an unknown amount of cash in it.

Both suspects are described as light-skinned men in their 20s. They are each about 6 feet tall and have thin builds.
